454ci 795+HP SBC Pro Bracket Race Engine
New News Worth Reading: We have now switched all 3.875, 4.000 & 4.040″ & 4.125″ stroked engines to the new PBM by Merlin Splayed Cap block. Now Standard with a .134″ raised and a real 55mm core that allows us to use a base circle 1.100″ cam core. We do not have to cut the rods to clear the previously used .875 or .900″ tiny base circle cams that were prone to breakage. The block also has .904″ bushed lifter bores and ½” main studs, not the 7/16 bolts. The first engine picked up 25 HP! Choose the race engines with the big cams with more nose area, shorter push rods and a .904″ lifter wheel. There is no comparison in other engines that use the tiny out dated valve train, so do not be sold an engine that has become obsolete. (072810)
