461ci 525Hp BBC Marine Crate Engine is for fresh or saltwater marine or even street applications that is specifically built using near new blocks. GM take out 88-94 engines that were normally removed under 10,000 miles and most were under 3000 miles for oil consumption. There were thousands of these taken out and stored for years and finally sold off at auction in Florida and I purchased a lot cheap and had them truck freighted from to Delaware years ago.
AwesomeEngines® disassembled every long block engine we purchased and kept the Gen V 4 bolt main blocks, 4.0″ near perfect cranks, rods, heads, all covers, oil pan dampeners. All pistons, pins, cam, lifters junked. Remove all block plugs, hot tank and brushed every block then CNC bored all blocks perfectly machined on 4.840 bore centers, square decked and final 4.280″ plate honed bores were corrected to perfect.
Internals in these engines are the GM 4.000″ stroke polished standard re-externally balanced cast cranks, for GM 6.135″ rods redone with new 3/8″ ARP rod bolts, new Sealed Power Pistons, Moly Rings and rod bearings and every part then meticulously assembled, dyno tested and tuned for torque and power on our in house Stuska dyno using 87 octane pump gas with a Merc Cruiser marine dual plane intake.
