AwesomeEngines® uses Lucas 20w50 Break in Oils have 3650ppm ZDDP and Renegade Oils have up to 5000ppm ZDDP for superior protection of any racing engine over 1500 hp and up to 10,000.00 HP for every part that moves.
These lubricants are heavy metals that allow the break in of flat tappet lifters keeping them spinning ontop the camshaft in the left-hand direction to keep the cam from walking forward. Once the 20 Minute break in of around 1500 to 2000 rpm, the rpm can be lowered at little at a time back to your normal idle rpm.
Your camshaft will live as long as you use the 3000ppm of ZDDP keeping the lobes from destroying your engine. These products and the proper Race Fuel are used in every engine we build and are suggested to keep using in these amounts to keep your engine protected.
